CHICAGO (Business Wire EON) November 29, 2007 -- The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) today announced that it is exhibiting at Search Engine Strategies (SES) conference in Chicago, December 3-6. In addition, Dana Todd, a SEMPO board member, is participating on The Digital Shelf panel. SES Chicago is being held at the Chicago Hilton Hotel.

In October, comScore released the findings from a major research study conducted in partnership with SEMPO, Procter & Gamble and Yahoo! The study, entitled The Digital Shelf, analyzed the role played by consumers who use search to find information about consumer packaged goods, including baby care, personal care, home care, and packaged food. These research findings are the subject of an SES panel, Wednesday, December 5, at 10:15 a.m. All the organizations that participated in the research will be represented on the panel.

At SES Chicago, SEMPO is announcing the launch of its 4th annual industry-wide survey to assess year-to-year changes in SEM spending and resource allocation. The survey is open to all search engine marketing professionals working in an agency or in-house, even non-SEMPO members. To participate in the survey, log on to http://www6.intellisurvey.com/run/sempo2007.

Earlier this year, Incisive Media and SEMPO announced a partnership to sponsor major networking events at many SES events in 2007. On Monday, December 3, 6:00 p.m., in Room Stevens 5, SEMPO is hosting a round-robin discussion with representatives of the top three search engines: Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft. SEMPO President Jeffrey Pruitt will kick off the meeting with a general update and welcome. Attendees will then be divided into three groups - agency search marketers, in-house search marketers and other marketers - and will spend roughly 15 minutes with each engine to discuss recent initiatives and other hot topics. The round-robin discussion will be followed by a cocktail reception starting at 7:00 p.m. This meeting is open to all SES attendees.
