MyGrito.com, the fastest growing Latino social networking site, is celebrating 12 months of existence and sporting a fresh new look with cool new features.
We want a safe place where our community can get information on the subject without feeling shame

Burlingame, CA (PRWEB) March 17, 2008 -- MyGrito.com, the fastest growing Latino social networking site has turned one. Last year on March 15th, 2007, MyGrito.com was officially launched and opened to the public. It did not take long, for cyber word to get out, and shortly thereafter, MyGrito had thousands of members and was featured on LatiNation, a Latino TV weekly magazine, bringing yet more notoriety.

In June 2007, MyGrito rolled out Tu Grito 2008 (www.mygrito.com/candidatos), an interactive political page which drew much national attention and brought new high profile members like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Tu Grito 2008 gives the Latino community and presidential candidates a platform to communicate and talk about issues important in the Hispanic community. "Politics are important in every community and an online community is no exception," said CEO and Founder, Irene Martinez-Audet. "MyGrito created Tu Grito to inform and to inspire young Latinos to get involved in politics. They should know their 'grito' counts."

In July 2008, MyGrito launched the celebrity gossip section with a lot of success. "We keep thinking of creative and innovative ways to bring new traffic. We want our site to be a one stop online shop for our Latino community," said Juan Ibarra, Sr. Web Developer of MyGrito.

Today, MyGrito.com celebrates not only its 12 months in existence, but it also celebrates a fresh, clean look with bright new colors. The original olive green logo was replaced with a new brighter reddish tone logo to reflect new life and new beginnings. Additionally, MyGrito is also launching a new Sex Education page (www.mygrito.com/sexgurus/). Much like Tu Grito 2008, it is a platform where members can ask questions about the much taboo subject.

"We want a safe place where our community can get information on the subject without feeling shame," said Ms. Audet. "Our goal is not only be a social platform, but also an informative one, thus providing a real service to our community."

MyGrito.com is a bilingual online center of communication, information and entertainment for the Latino community. It is the only Hispanic social networking site that embraces three languages effectively: Spanish, English and Spanglish.
