(PRWEB) August 11, 2006 -- The Town Board of the Town of Somerset has passed legislation permitting the construction of commercial and residential windmills.

The Town’s Windmill Committee formed in February 2006. Legislation submitted by the Windmill Committee was approved by the Town Board on Tuesday, July 11, 2006.

The committee, comprising a wide range of town and business stakeholders, researched legislation in other communities to draft its own. The legislation permits the construction of both commercial and residential windmills while providing environmental safeguards for the Town’s residents.
