Steamboat Springs, CO (PRWeb) February 28, 2007 -- Steamboat's 2006/2007 season cumulative snowfall surpassed the 250-inch mark at mid-mountain due to a series of storms that has dropped three feet of fresh Champagne Powder snow over the past three days. The Steamboat Ski Resort is currently in a storm cycle that has yielded 9" at mid-mountain and 9" at the summit overnight; 18" at mid-mountain and 23" at the summit in past 48-hours and 27" at mid-mountain and 36" at the summit in the past 72-hours. The resort is reporting a 72-inch base at mid-mountain and 83-inch base at the summit on powder conditions.
For the month of February, 79.5 inches (6.6 feet) has fallen at mid-mountain and 100 inches (8.3 feet) at the summit, currently making this the 6th snowiest February in the past 28 years. The resort has seen snow 15 out of 26 days (57.7%) this month, with 9 of those days recording more than four inches.

Since the resort opened on November 22nd, snow has fallen 46 out of 97 days (47%) with 21 of those days recording four or more inches. So far this season at mid-mountain, Steamboat has seen 11" in September; 27" in October; 49" in November; 49" in December; 41" in January; and 79.5" in February for a combined total of 265.5" (21.38 feet). Steamboat is currently under a snow advisory until noon (MST) today, with forecasts calling for additional snow throughout the upcoming week.
