CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (Business Wire EON) October 8, 2007 --
MVI, Management Ventures, Inc., announces the launch of Tesco Global
101, MVI’s newest insight-packed training
module for today’s fast-track retail sales
professionals, category managers, and marketing professionals.
The highly informative Tesco Global 101 leads users through Tesco’s
market development model, formats, customer strategy, the “broad
church” concept, “Every
Little Helps” principles, shopper insights
model, and many other insights that will help make doing business with
the retailer a success.
Part of MVI’s highly regarded e-Learning
Suite, the Tesco Global 101 launch will immediately precede Tesco’s
spectacular entry into the U.S. grocery market.
Tesco, the giant international grocery and general merchandising retail
chain based in the U.K., will soon open scores of Fresh & Easy
Neighborhood Market stores in Southern California; Las Vegas, Nevada;
and Phoenix, Arizona.
With the first stores opening in San Diego in November, the retailer
powerhouse expects to have 100 stores operating by February 2008.
According to MVI, this would equate to opening at least one store every
29 hours between November and February, a highly visible retailing blitz.
Obviously, with Tesco’s aggressive entry
plan, vendors must be as prepared as possible to substantially share in
this incredible opportunity to grow sales. MVI’s
Tesco Global 101 is designed to provide them with the solid footing they
need.
“We are tremendously excited about launching
Tesco Global 101,” commented Ethan Sinick, MVI’s
Subject Matter Expert on Tesco Global for nearly 10 years. “This
module was designed to help suppliers clearly understand the unique
brand and operational vision that has shaped Tesco into one of the world’s
most successful retailers.”
Sinick emphasized, “Suppliers working with
Tesco need to see that this is a retail company with a holistic vision
of its brand, rather than simply a view toward best-practice category
management and efficient operations. This will provide a platform for a
more robust vision of how suppliers develop their business with Tesco—from
account management to top-to-top dialogue.”
MVI has partnered with Learning Evolution to create these web-based,
interactive e-Learning courses to help suppliers quickly gain insights
on key customers and the retail industry. Not just for sales teams,
these courses are also extremely helpful cross-functionally, so that an
organization can be directionally aligned on retailer strategies.
