- Filmaker Showdown: a gala screening of all the finalist films for 2000 people on six screens. The filmmaker awarded "Best of Show" is awarded the ultimate filmmaker prize package valued at $15,000*, with the winning film featured in an international television special.
- Pro-photographer Showdown: The Showdown is open to all interested parties and all submissions will be reviewed by the Jury. Of these, only the top 5 will be selected to come to Whistler and display 9 minutes of their best images in slide show format to music in a gala showing. The winner walks with 10 grand in hand.
- Backcountry Freeride Jam: Events include amateur and pro backcountry competitions and the first The North Face Canadian Ski Mountaineering Championships, chances to demo the latest backcountry equipment, meet and learn from the professionals, avalanche clinics, and out of bounds tours.
