CHICAGO (BusinessWire EON) September 26, 2007 --
WiChorus, the developer of the
industry’s most scalable, Intelligent Access
Services Network (ASN) Gateway, today announced that it has completed
interoperability testing (IOT) of its Intelligent ASN Gateway solution
with Bridgewater Systems’
proven AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) Service
Controller. Testing was based on the WiMAX Forum’s
NWG 1.0.0 specification. Successful interoperability demonstrates a
significant step towards an open WiMAX ecosystem that promises greater
flexibility for mobile operators, and increased innovation and growth
for the market as a whole.
“The interoperability of our AAA Service
Controller for WiMAX with the WiChorus ASN Gateway provides further
options to our customers,” said Farshid
Mohammadi, vice president of product management for Bridgewater Systems. “By
working with leading WiMAX vendors such as WiChorus, we are fostering an
open environment that enables our customers to build robust networks
that support a broad range of new IP services.”
“WiChorus and Bridgewater are part of a larger
consortium of companies dedicated to creating an open WiMAX ecosystem
that encourages innovation and eliminates closed models that have
restricted operator’s service options in the
past,” said Rehan Jalil, president and CEO of
WiChorus. “By focusing on open network
interfaces based on the WiMAX Forum’s NWG
specification, we have accelerated the ability of mobile operators to
deploy large–scale, multi-vendor WiMAX
networks that deliver intelligent, differentiated services.”
WiChorus is driving open standards through its participation in the
WiMAX Forum and its industry-leading One
Open WiMAX initiative. The goal of this vendor-neutral initiative is
to promote fully open WiMAX standards and demonstrate multi-vendor
interoperability across the entire mobile ecosystem. As part of this
initiative, WiChorus has invested significant R&D resources in
developing technology to accelerate multi-vendor interoperability.
WiChorus has developed an extensive family of test and simulation tools,
an advanced test-lab facility, and software components to assist vendors
in delivering fully interoperable, open WiMAX solutions.
Following the IOT program, WiChorus and Bridgewater will continue to
work closely to deliver complementary market-leading solutions for their
global customer bases.
